“I am drawn to silence, sensuality, chance and loss. I have developed a process that enfolds all of these elements. I build tall, thin columns from tiny coils of porcelain clay, attaching one at a time. I invite the physics of failure during the firing. The columns are too tall and thin to retain their form and collapse in the heat. These accidental forms are sometimes combined and refired once or multiple times. This inquiry is open ended and continuous.“
